Rebak Island Resort & Marina – Hotel Review

Table of Contents

We are in love with Langkawi! If swimming in freshwater lakes inside of islands in the middle of the ocean wasn’t enough, we decided to extend our stay on the island and check out some of the nicest hotels in the area. This time, we spent a few days at Rebak Island Resort & Marina, and here you’ll find our honest review of this resort!

Rebak Island Resort & Marina

Location

Rebak Island Resort & Marina is located on a private island, surrounded by lush forests, just a 7-minute boat ride from Cenang Port Jetty. It offers boat rides multiple times a day to and from Langkawi so you can explore the main island. The Langkawi International Airport is 7.3 km from the jetty, around a 30-40 minutes ride.

The Rooms

Rebak Island Resort & Marina offers 94 individually decorated guestrooms, including 2 luxurious suites, the Reabk and Senari Suites. Rooms can be one or two-bedroom suites, deluxe rooms, or Premium Rooms with either garden or sea view. We stayed at a Premium Sea View Room and this is the one we will focus on in this review.

The room is really spacious, with a big bathroom, and a balcony facing the Andaman Sea. It counts with a desk, a tv, an air-conditioner, and a minibar. Electric kettle, complimentary tea, and coffee are also available.

The bathroom is a space apart and we love how spacious it is! It boasts two vanities, a shower, and a separate bathtub facing the ocean.

At the moment, rates here start at around 94 euros a night for the Premium Garden View Rooms and 105 for the Premium Sea View Rooms. One Bedroom Suites start at 140 and Two Bedroom Suites, at 199. The Luxury Suites start at 164 for the Rebak Suite and 230 for the Senari Suite. All prices are inclusive of breakfast.

The Space

Rebak Island Resort & Marina boasts one outdoor pool overlooking the Andaman Sea, two tennis courts, a fitness center, a private beach, and a Spa. Not to mention the whole Rebak Marina!

The outdoor pool is frequented by both adults and kids, and it can get busy, mainly in the morning and late afternoons when the sun is not as hot. The pool has a swim-up bar that offers signature drinks, and despite being the most used space in the resort, it is still a peaceful place to spend the day! There are cushioned sunbeds and straw parasols located all around the pool and also on the private beach for guests’ convenience.

The Spa offers signature treatments, body scrubs, and body wraps, and it’s open until 9 PM. Besides the above, the resort also offers a range of activities, such as the Mangrove Tour And Stingrays, Jungle Trails, and the Sunset Cruise Tour. The Mangrove Tour is a must-do when in Langkawi!

Their Marina boasts 189 wet and 70 dry berths in a very calm and sheltered marina basin, and yachties can enjoy all of the resort facilities!

The Food

Rebak Island Resort & Marina has one main dining option, the Senari Sea View Restaurant, open for all-day dining.

The restaurant serves breakfast every day from 7:30 to 10:30 AM in a buffet setting with both Asian and International options. You can also have your eggs done however you wish, on the spot. We loved having our breakfasts here, with the sea breeze greeting the start of our days!

The restaurant also offers both Malay and Continental cuisines for the day, from which we recommend (really, you have to try it!) the Lamb and Potato Curry. Our mouths are watering just from writing about it!

We also had the chance to try their Steamboat and a collection of chef’s specials on two separate dinners organized for us and can’t recommend the food enough. It is food heaven!

Conclusion

Rebak Island Resort & Marina really surprised us! We had been in Langkawi for a few days already but experiencing it from a different perspective with an outside view of the main island is definitely something to remember. The staff at Rebak Island is super attentive and made us feel at home!

We think the prices are fair for what you get and make Rebak Island Resort a great option when staying in Langkawi! The fact that Cenang Beach is also just a short boat ride away from the resort is a huge plus. The Wifi is also really good at the resort, and the food is amazing (and cheap!).

We would recommend this resort mainly for families traveling to Langkawi! Couples and anyone looking for something exclusive yet affordable would also love the place. We had a great stay and left the island feeling renewed and wishing we could have stayed longer!
