From golden sand beaches and striking architecture to the best food you will ever eat – Valencia is a must when visiting Spain! Often overlooked in favor of the bustling Barcelona or Madrid, the 2,000-year-old city is a wonderfully liveable one, and without the crowd that comes with global metropolises!
Valencia offers over 300 days of sun a year, but we were lucky enough to catch 6 days of non-stopping rain (as Bruno says, experiencing something that only happens a few days of the year must always be considered luck – even if we’re not super happy about it 😅).
Although the weather was not in our favor, the accommodation most definitely was! When deciding where to stay in Valencia, our most important condition was for the place to have great wifi and a desk or a table where we could work remotely. We chose DAU Studios and in this review, we’ll tell you all about it!
DAU Studios
Location
DAU’s apartments are located only 850 m from the beaches of Las Arenas and Cabanyal, in a very traditional neighborhood of Valencia known as the Cabanyal district.
The Cabanyal is one of the so-called Maritime Villages of València, where most of the houses were old fishermen’s huts and are now one of the best examples of modernism in the city – the colorful and tiled facades are lovely!
The location is very convenient, with a bus stop in front of the building and a taxi stop right on the corner. It was perfect for us since getting a taxi via rideshare apps seemed almost impossible.
The Suites
Options at DAU Studios include one-bedroom apartments, duplexes, and large duplex apartments, that accommodate up to 3 to 4 people. The building and all appliances and furniture were sparkling new, and the decor is impeccable. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment.
All of the apartments have central heating and cooling and a small but well-equipped open kitchen with a dining table and minibar. The living room gives access to a small balcony.
The bathroom is also very modern and clean, though, in the one-bedroom apartments, the washbasin is located in the room instead. A hairdryer is also available.
The Space
There is no reception, so we received all the details to access the building a day before our arrival, along with the wifi password and all other relevant information for our stay. The self-check-in process is smooth, and going in and out of the building is easy and safe.
Note: Despite not having a proper reception, we did find someone at the reception desk during the morning time. The receptionist was super friendly and even helped us call a taxi on a rainy day in the middle of the famous Fallas Festival.
The cleaning service happens every seven days instead of daily so in case you’re having a long stay and need some extra cleaning, you can purchase the service for 12€ per hour (depending on the apartment).
Upstairs you will find a laundry area where you can wash and dry your clothes – super useful when traveling for a long period of time!

We paid 128 EUR per night for our one-bedroom apartment in March 2022.
There’s no breakfast but the kitchen makes up for it. There’s also no staff but we’re sure if they did, they’d all be lovely and friendly people as all of the Valencians we met.
Note: we base our ratings on same-level accommodations in similar locations, therefore we’ll never compare a Hostel in Asia with a Hostel in Europe or a guesthouse with a 5-star resort.
Conclusion
We spent 17 days traveling through Spain and this was our most expensive stay – about 100 euros per day. There are definitely cheaper places in Valencia but since we were in three, and working remotely for a few days, this was the absolute best option.
The place is new, stylish, and clean, and the location is perfect for tourism. If you’re a digital nomad, this is also a great option for a month-long stay!
